Insufficient storage error

Eef

Lurker
Hello all,

I've a Samsung Galaxy Gio and when I try to install Whatsapp or
Facebookmessenger I always get the error 'insufficient storage available'.
I've been reading a lot online but I just can't get it solved.
I moved all my pictures and movies to the computer so there is a lot of
space on my phone.
I also installed the app 'app cache cleaner' so all caches are cleared.

But non of this works...

Can please someone help me?

Thanks a lot!
Camerilla

Have you tried moving your application to your sd card through "Settings - Applications - Manage Applications - the Application Name" there should be an option there to Move in SD card in your android device.

When you say "there is a lot of space on the phone", how much space, and how much internal storage does it have to start with?

Many android versions like to keep a certain fraction of the internal space free, so if adding the apps will bring you below that they will fail to install with this message even if there is enough space for them to fit.

Moving apps to SD may be possible if you have an old enough Android version, or if this is one of the handsets Samsung added the feature back to, but is not supported by most modern androids. But if you have the setting, then yes, try using it to free space.
