Insufficient Storage Help please!

Hey guys. I have another problem. Well when I try to install an app I get an error message saying insufficient storage. I checked my storage and it said I have 240 MBs and that's plenty for the app I'm trying to download. So storage isn't a problem. I'm rooted with stock ROM. I really need help. I've tried clearing dalvik cache in CWR and clearing my regular cache along with uninstalling market update and clearing market data. Thanks for reading. Samsung galaxy s3.

Ok.
Otherwise, there could have been leftovers from a previous install.
(happened to me. lol)

Clearing the dalvik cache and such was something I kept coming across, but didn't work but once.

What is the app, BTW...?

Its oovoo. Video chatting. There was also a problem with installing N.o.v.a 3 but I got it to install after uninstalling tons of apps which was more than I needed to uninstall to get nova. And I had MC3 which is a game and it used to say 1.3 gb but now it says 12.5 mb? I don't know what to do lol.

Well no one seemed to help me but I'm going to be nice and say how I fixed it. I downloaded an app called MarketFix. Found out I got the problem when I downloaded chainfire 3d.

FYI anyone reading this...

Wiping Dalvik-Cache wont help as it is rebuilt on startup. Therefore, the only dalvik cache that wont be rebuilt, is for apps you no longer have. Tje space gained by this will be minimal.

There is a threshold % of total space, that if you hit this, you will no longer be able to install apps.

The issue is the /sdcard and the /data/app location are actually the same space. So those huge games that you download 1 - 1.5GB SD data for, will also lump towards using your app space, unlike other devices.

for rooted user, I do recommend using this app to move some of the /sdcard/Android/data folders to /extSdcard instead:

[TOOL] DirectoryBind - move data to external_sd (GameLoft, Shadowgun etc.) ROOT req. - xda-developers
