Help Insufficient Storage Space Available

Acer Iconia B1 Tablet 8 GB Internal 32 GB External (Micro SD) Android Version 4.1.2.

My Acer Tablet keeps telling me that I have insufficient memory even though I have uninstalled a number of apps. The Android Storage App gives the following information:
INTERNAL STORAGE: Total Space 0.98GB, Apps 744MB, Available 109MB.
INTERNAL SD: Total Space 5.17GB, Apps 66.67MB, Audio 5.26MB, Downloads 16KB, Available 5.1GB.
EXTERNAL SD: Total Space 29.71GB, Available 28.83GB.

When I connect my tablet to my PC, the Windows file manager reports:
External SD 28.8GB of 29.7GB
Internal SD 5.08GB of 5.17GB

Could anyone please explain why I keep getting the "insufficient storage space" message and how can I correct this problem?

Only 109MB free for apps, that is not much and causes this message.
You'd uninstall some apps.
Not sure about if your Andriod version does allow to shove parts of apps to SD storage.

Many thanks for responding. I thought the 0.98GB Internal Storage was like RAM (working space) and the Internal SD space of 5.17GB was for the apps - in the same way that a PC works. Hence there should be plenty of space for apps. (I use the the External Storage space for data and backups).
