Integrated Calendar/People App

Lasermn

I use my Google account to link business contacts and my calendar appointments. I want an app that allows me to have direct access to all contact information ( Phone, email, address ), directly from the Calendar app. Right now the stock calendar just shows the contacts name and I believe I can access their email but that is it. Suggestions for a more integrated Contacts and Calendar application please. TIA...

Try Gemini. It might be exactly what you're looking for.

Thank you for the suggestion, however it looks like this app, just like the native calendar app, only give an email address, not the entire contact info. I would like to be able to call or map these appointments directly from Calendar.

Pocket Informant should be able to do that. (Just to note, I do not use PI myself, but I did when I had windows mobile devices, and calendar items, tasks and contacts were always well-integrated.)

Well... after a trial of Biz calendar, ( which does link people to the calendar ), it turns out you can still access your contacts with the native ICS Calendar app. After selecting the event look under attending, press Person attending, then Maybe. You have complete access to the contact information including mapping. The stock ICS calendar rocks!!

Is there anyway to get a reccuring appointment, or just to assign a different color in the calendar other than green or blue?

Making an appointment repetitive is done right in the main appointment set up page. Look below description and press Repetition. You can set up recurring events there. Can't help with changing the color scheme.

.... the color is the "calendar" where you entered the appointment. I have a green one for phone calendar and a brown one for a Gmail calendar.

Click on the color/calendar name and a dropdown appears with the option to select the color/calendar.

Thank you for the replies! But I was hoping that an option tohave different colors for different events on the calendar, Like say my truck payment reminder every month was orange and my property loan payment yellow. you know something That I could recognize without even opening the day to see the events. I have my work on call schedule for a week butted right up to my vacation, and Instead of 2 weeks straight with green colored tabs in the calendar I'd like to have two colors separating them? I hope this option exists! Thanks for taking the time to respond to all these questions, you guys are great!

Sure there is. Go into Google Calendar on a pc browser. In the settings, create a new calendar for your vacation schedule. Items on that calendar will all have their own color, different from your calendar.

Ok thank you for that info but is there any way to be able to do that from my Bionic? I want to have my phone notify me when these events come in with the phone notification not emails or text.

Again, in Google calendar on a PC browser. On the left, where your calendars are listed, there is a drop-down control next to "My Calendars". Click that, then click settings. Click "Reminders and notifications" for each of your calendars. Change "by default" to be a pop-up, and set a reminder for the time before the event before the event happens. That will be the default for that calendar.

Each individual event can have separate notifications (and there can be multiple), plus they can be set on the Bionic by editing the event. Also, go into settings for the calendar and make sure that you have notifications set the way that you want (vibration yes or no; a notification ringtone if you want an audible reminder.)

Thank you, I'll try it!

Ok, I spent time and went through and put events into google calendar on the computer and it still does not show up with different colors on my phone calendar. just 2 colors still green and a nasty brownish yellow. no reds yellows or any other color I designated as events on the computer version of my calendar.

Each calendar gets its own color. I don't believe that you can assign colors to individual events in Android - they get the color o the calendar. If your personal calendar is green, its events will be green. If you also have a calendar for vacation events that is red, events in that calendar will be red.
