So i have had it with virgin mobile (they say i get 4g in my area but i dont) so now im gonna head over to t-mobile. All of t-mobiles phones are either crappy or too expensive for me (not dropping a months rent on a phone lol).

My main question with the phone is....if i get it how can i make the interface look better? I am one of those weird people that isnt a fan of how stock android looks. What is the difference between launchers, skins, and then ive heard of things like cyanogemod and i have no idea what that is (but from video i saw with a phone that had it installed, i liked the looks of the interface).

Second would be how is the speaker? I really dont care if it sounds good, just that it gets loud enough (i use my phone when washing dishes, taking a shower etc lol).

Lastly....are you overall happy with your phone? I currently have an HTC desire 601 from virgin that is basically a HTC one mini and i actually really like it, but hate virgin mobile. I feel i will be downgrading phone but upgrading service unless i spend 600 bucks on a flagship. Im open to suggestions for unlocked phones that i can bring over to t-mobile but from my limited research so far nothing comes close to the value of the moto-g LTE version.

Thanks.

I think you'll be happy with the Moto G LTE and Nova (or Apex or any other launcher you may like - I'm currently thinking of switching to Next launcher just to use a theme I like). :-)

I suggest you look at ... Nova Launcher Prime ... it is what I use. I think it will address about 95% of your concerns without root-ing.

See ive never even heard of this lol!

Ill look into that with youtube vids on it, taking suggestions on any other pretty (i guess they are called launchers?) that make stock android look better.

Also, any info on the speaker? I know it wont sound as good as my HTC, but does it get loud at least?

When the volume is all the way up it's pretty loud.

Nova Launcher also has a free version if you're interested.

Cool, if the paid version gives more features id be ok with paying 5 bucks.

Of all the screenshots i saw with nova they didnt show the settings screen, one of the things i dont like about stock android is how bad menus look.

Another thing, can i change lock screen style? I LOVE LG lock screen and the like water animation it does, but the best part about LG lock screen i like is the fact you can swype anywhere on the screen i really hate when they make you touch a certain part of the screen to unlock it.

Thanks again for replies.

Hey guys, is there an app that adds a "close all apps" button to the recent apps page? I know things like advanced task killer exist but i would much prefer to use the stock one, but would really like a button so i can kill all tasks at once. Same idea with the notification bar icons, is there an app that adds that functionality (clear all notifications, rather than one by one) to moto g stock interface?

Thanks.

For the notifications, when you pull down the shade, tap the three bars and all the notifications will clear at once. Thought there's similar for the recent apps but not sure now...

ETA: Actually I think it's the same (maybe not on all phones?), tap the three bars (that look sort of like stair steps) and they'll all clear.

Oh hmm ive been watching moto g reviews on youtube and didnt notice those 3 bars, ill have to watch again lol.

Stay far away from task killers, there's simply no reason to use one anymore (unless you have a rogue app that is killing memory or battery life.

Oh i have no intention to use one, just mentioning that i want the ability to close all apps at once like those do. Can anyone 100% confirm the moto g has the ability to close all apps with one button in stock interface? (also, notification bar have this as well?).

From the reviews ive been watching i dont see this ability unless im missing something.
