Help Intermittent failure to charge

Plug in my Galaxy and sometimes it just completely fails to charge.

Tried different charger/usb cable but it doesnt make any difference.

Any ideas?

Also noticed that when plugged in to PC via USB I get intermittent 'device not recognised' errors.

Looks very much like the charge/sync socket has a problem....
