Help Intermittent unresponsive touchscreen

Didn't see any posts about this, figured I would start one just in case.. I don't know if this will be a bulk issue or just my luck, but probably two or three times now I have tried to wake up my phone but the touchscreen is completely unresponsive.

Everything else appears to function, BT voice dialing (I think), power button, the power+volume down reset is the only thing to bring it back to life.. Only have noticed it after hitting the power button to turn on the screen, so never while I am actively using it.

Pressing the power button to turn the display off (or letting it go off), waiting, back on, doesn't do the trick either.

Aside from the fact I don't think my in-call volume will adjust if my face is next to the phone, this is the only problem I have had.

Anyone else?

Are you rooted and if so have you frozen anything? If so, try unfreezing everything and see if that helps.

Have you tried done a hard reset? If not, do it and see if that helps.

If neither helps take it back as you might have a defective phone.

That's a rare issue, but it's not just your phone. I think sean76 first posted about this, and I've had it happen once in the four week's I've had the phone. No word on what might cause this.

I've had it happen three times total. Each time I was in the middle of something, like Swype, and the screen froze. Hard buttons worked, but you can't power down with out being able to tap the screen. Reboot via battery pull was the only remedy.
