Internal memory - private?

Hi. I'm turning my Xperia phone in for service, as it isn't working the way it should. I have been given instructions to send the phone and battery only, which I guess means I am to remove my SIM card and SD card.

I'm wondering how much of my personal data will be accessible to the service guys. My contacs and text messages are stored on the SIM card, right? What about my hotmail and other apps installed on the internal phone memory? Will they be accessible to anyone holding my phone while it is away?

I'm a noob at these things, so any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Contacts and Messages are stored on phone. Phones stopped using SIM for messages like 7 years ago. You can only put 50 messages on a SIM. Contacts are also saved by default to phone.

Oh, see how little I know about these things?

Well, I guess I'll just have to delete my conversation history and unlink it with my mail while it is away, then.
