Root internal memory rom problem

OK, I have a rooted phone. 400megs of internal ram. Problem is I only have 25-30 megs free.

What the heck is taking up all the space. I have deleted most of my text messages. Only 5 contacts with 40 max messages.

Downloaded Scandisk Memory Zone.

It shows 0 files in every category except for installed apps. Well under 100megs showing there. So what the heck is using over 300 megs of memory?

More specifically, is there an app (like I thought scandisk memory zone was) that will show exactly what the heck is in my 400 megs of memory?

RAM is being used by programs that are currently running, not by messages that are being held in storage. Most of that 400 MB is being used by the Android operating system.
