Help internal memory

okay so lg and metro say the esteem has 8gb internal memory, but it only shows i have 4gb in my phone...is this right and the phone only has 4g and they're wrong or should i take my phone back and demand one with the full 8gb?

Typo months ago they said in the forum that it would have 4gb

It's 8GB total. Guy on another forum investigated and found the drive is apparently split into 3 sections --

• 2GB reserved for OS,
• 2GB reserved for apps,
• 4GB reserved for pics, media storage.

Yeah, I'm thinking maybe that's why it can't be rooted (yet!) Maybe something to do with eMMC+?

Ive notice the day it was launched that it said 8gb but if you go to Metro's website and look at the specs now it says 5gb, so which is it?
