Internal Microphone with headphones

Whenever I use the ExtUSB port with an adapter to regular headphones, my intenral microphone is disabled. I'd love a way to keep it working so I could take calls while still outputting sound through headphones or my car stereo.

I have and use DJ type headphones with my adapter. I use the mic on the adapter for calls.

Not sure if yours has one. My adapter has a button on it used to answer the phone and also has a small hole on it for sound to go into.

Hope that helps.

Sorry, I didn't explain better:

When using a stereo headphone adapter in the ADP1, when the headphones are plugged in, despite the lack of any external microphone, the internal microphone is deactivated.

This prevents the phone from being used as a car phone; I have my ADP1 on a windshield mount with audio routed via headphone adapter to double-male cable to car stereo input. If the internal mike was still operational, it would allow the phone to be used as a hands free car phone. (Without the need for bluetooth)

Is there any app that can be used to prevent the microphone from auto switching off?

I second this idea

My old Nokia 6500 does it
I have my earphones (no mic) plugged in, listening to music, call comes in
I can answer the call, hold the phone up and still talk, everythings fine

With the HTC Dream, I cannot do this. I have to unplug the earphones to use the microphone.

An app or some option to use the internal mic would be greatly appreciated

btw... I just signed up here to just post this... :P
