Help Internal storage missing

My Nexus 5 was acting sluggish which is normally very strange. So I went to go wipe the cache using the recovery mode. when I did that everything was frozen I had waited a while but no go so I had to turn it off. When restarting the phone everything was normal except I had no internal storage. using file expert and even connecting it to my computer (W7, Ubuntu 13) No luck it was empty even though it says there are things stored. I cant add photos since I am a new user but I will link the photos. Any ideas on how to fix this? I know I can rest but I want some of the pictures I have not backed up. thanks

Added links, but I can't help much more than that. It sounds like there was some corruption of the file system and the usual recovery tools don't work. Hopefully the problem lies elsewhere and there's an easy solution for you.

What do you see when you use File Expert?
