Lurker
I get 180mb. of internal memory in my phone I have downloaded a few file manager apps and I am using 135mb and have only 45mb left. it says that I am using 40mb for apps which is correct, the problem is it says I am using the rest with OTHER FILES, not apps music or pictures and I cannot find or have a clue what and where they are and how I can delete them. to free up more space. Please help someone I am completely stuck.

try to restore factory settings, back first your important files. then root your phone and use move2sd so that all 3rd party apps can be installed to your sd.

Are sure you don't have any bloatware pre-installed by the manufacturer? If it is so, root your phone up and then use a file manager such as Root Explorer to delete those apps from the system.
Also, install from the Market app2sd and see whether it is possible to move apps from the internal to the external storage.

app2sd can work but not all the 3rd party apk's can be moved using that, move2sd is better...but that's just in my case
