Root [International] Another topic sorry. Internal SD?

funkylogik

share the love peeps ;)
Can anyone help me understand how this works...
So on a brand new s3, of the 16GB internal sd, like 11GB of that is available and i get that thats memory taken up by the OS.
So when we use a aokp/aosp much smaller OS, why do we not get more internal user/available storage?
Is there some kind of partition there that we can adjust to allow more usable storage?

Because what ROM you use doesn't change the partition size

You have X amount reserved for many different things. The phone doesn't care if you use less

Ahh right so if i move an app to system, it will go into that "room" of the memory where the OS lives?
Im not a gamer or anything tbh so i have plenty internal sd. Im just interested :)
So is there any way to see inside that partition as like a bar chart telling you whats there (firmware/system apps/available)?

If you want to see what's actually in there, you'll just need a root enabled file explorer to navigate to it
