Root [International] Freezing on cyanogen 10.1.3 RC 2

Hi,

I'm trying to help a friend run 10.1.3 rc 2 but the phone keeps freezing after a install from a FULL WIPE. She was using Omega rom prior with no issues...I'm running 10.1.3 rc 2 perfectly fine..can anyone advise what might be the problem? She has the i9300. I haven't flashed any new modems on her phone yet but could that be the issue? My baseband on 10.1.3 rc 2 is XXUFME7. Is this considered old?

Ive been on same modem for ages (EMC2) and i doubt that would cause freezes anyway.
What recovery is she using? If its the latest CWM it doesnt have "fix permissions" so you have to download the Rom Manager app and it has Fix Permissions. Try that.
is she using the same gapps as you?

Yes she used the same GAPPS file as me ..and the updates version of clockworkdmod recovery..same as me.....funny I also try the FIX PERMISSIONS but that didn't help as well..i'm soooo clueless on what else to try other than goign back to stock for her..

P.s, why not just try another rom. Theres some much better than CM

Do you have a link for where to download modems btw mate? My data speeds have got terrible in my new pad so i should maybe try messin with modems. Im on Three

Me and her were both on Omega Rom.. Omega rom had the Omega App from the play store which you can download and it had different modems for you to download and flash..

Funny after I couldnt get Cyanogemod working,,I tried to go back to Omega and it starts freezing too lol..so I don't know what's up anymore.

Is Omega a samsung based rom?
I could never go back to them lol
Im just thinking, if changing rom doesnt help with the freezing, it could be the dreaded Sudden Death Syndrome. Have u read anythin about that?

Yes Omega is a sammy based rom..but u don't have to download the rom to get the modem..just download the omega app from the playstore and there will be a modem section u go to that lists a bunch of modems to download...

Yeah i read about the sudden death syndrome but i hope it's not that lol

Cheers mate. If it is SDS, theres ways to make the freezes happen less that you can look into if stock doesnt help. Or even reset the flash counter and claim the warranty :beer:
