[International / GSM] Can't go into recovery mode!

I have an galaxy nexus with android 4.1.1 and I just rooted it. I just have one problem. Whenever I'm trying to change my ROM and go into recovery mode an error occurs. An open android with a big red warning sign shows up and after a minute or so it boots up normally again. Is there anyway I can fix this? Plz help me!

Sorry for the bad quality of the photo, but it's hard to photograph a screen with maximum brightness turned on.

The "open Android" lying on it's back means you have only stock recovery and no custom recovery. You need to flash either CWM or TWRP recoveries through adb via your PC and then root, as the stock ROM will always overwrite anything until custom recovery is flashed and the device rooted immediately afterwards. I'd also recommend TWRP v. 2.2.2.0 this being the latest, but you can also go with CWM.
