[International / GSM] GNEX Bricked Bootloop odin/rootkit doesnt work

hey all

got a gsm GNEX that was stuck on bootloop.

have tried every way to unbrick it i could find flashing with odin, rootkit and fastboot and adb... have flashed android 4.0, 4.2, 4.4 and CM-11

same thing happens everytime every seperate flash the phone will reboot 5-10 times then say "updating apps" will finish that and go into a constant bootloop...

im wondering if the phone is either hardbricked or if its a hardware failure.

any help would be great

cheers

Samsung phones do that if there's a problem witgh bad storage, so the ROM is corrupted (among other reasons they do that), so a hardware problem is definitely a possibility.

It's not a hard brick. My definition of hard bricked (other people phrase it differently) is that the phone does exactly the same thing whether there's a battery in it or not. IOW, the only difference between the phone and a rock is that the back cover doesn't come off a rock as easily.

It's definitely a soft brick, though. (A boot loop is one form of soft brick - the phone does things, but not the right things.)

is there anyway to test the phones hardware through bootloader etc ? im pretty much out of ideas now :)

I mean if you have already tried flashing firmware onto your device through Odin and that doesn't work you might just want to send it back to either Samsung or try your carrier to get a replacement.
