[International / GSM] volume buttons stopped working, boots into either ODIN mode or fastboot mode

I don't know what went wrong, maybe some sweat seeped into the case, but this morning I noticed that the volume randomly would change levels, even though I didn't press the buttons. I then turned the phone off and tried to turn it back on, but it would only boot into ODIN mode. Curiously, I could boot into fastboot mode if I hold the volume buttons and power, but the volume buttons themselves will not work. I'm not really sure what to do now. I had a case and I took it off, and i found a few drops of sweat or water on the case, but the phone itself was completely dry..
 
Oh, and I guessed it went without saying, but I have an unlocked rooted GSM Galaxy Nexus running Jelly Bean 4.1.1.
