Root [International] How to Sync my life using my Galaxy S3?

Hey guys,

I've got a Galaxy S3 running Android 4.1.1 (CheckROM 5.5) which I'm very happy with, however I don't think I'm using it to the full of its potential. This new Google app seems to think it can sync my life, however I don't know how to use it properly.

I'm a sales rep so I'm on the road a fair bit, booking appointments, writing down notes etc. I use gmail for my personal email, however my office uses Microsoft Outlook for emails.

At the moment, I've got a notebook, in which I write down appointments (I don't want to carry a heavy diary around, as well as my notebook, camera, laser, phone, wallet etc etc), take notes, have a to-do list etc etc.

I'm just wondering if there's a way to put in appointments, as well as write notes, on my phone which somehow sync real-time to my work and home computers, and vice versa.

Also, a to-do list would be nice.

Is there a way to do all of this to simplify my life and make me more efficient? I don't mind spending money on apps if that's what is required.

Any advice or recommendations are appreciated!!

Cheers :)

I can't post the hyperlink since i am a new user but this is it spaced out below. I use microsoft office on my personal computer and was able to sync up my outlook calandar (on my computer) with my google calendar (on my phone) and it updates every 30 mins so i have everything i need in either place and can update either one at any time.

I just got my S3 so this is like 5 days worth of experience but I'm doing exactly what you want to do with something called CompanionLink. Its a pay-fer and its not cheap but it seems to work. It requires the installation of DejaView on your phone and then it syncs to Deja. Deja in turn syncs to the Samsung contacts and apparently you can get it to sync to the native calendar app but Deja doesn't recommend that. For my purposes Deja works so well (and its free) so I just hid the native calendar. The phone seems to need the contacts although wiser users may have some workaround for that too.

This was a deal breaker for me and I'm surprised it wasn't easier to do. I can't live without Outlook and it needs to talk to my phone and more importantly I need all four sub-apps - contacts, calendar, tasks and notes. Since it has been possible to do that ever since smartphones appeared I was disappointed at the level of complexity involved to implement this solution but it appears to work well. The alternative was to drink the Apple Kool-aid so that didn't seem like a perfect solution either. My BB Curve was just too frustrating to keep using and I decided not to wait for the next one.

3 weeks into ownership of this disaster software & I wanted to make sure any future readers didn't fall into the same trap I did. CompanionLink has serious problems with it's sync - Google will fill in the details if you doubt my word. Their support is a joke. I don't know what the answer is but it isn't CompanionLink
