Hello everyone! Picture of the problem: ''imgur.com/ExjF96M''
I have an issue with my HTC ONE. I recently updated the phone and now i can't use it. The phone starts but after i unlock the phone it says ''Unauthorized unit, This app is not compatible with your phone''. The text is inside a grey and white box and when i press ok it just pops back up.

I can access the slide down screen and settings but nothing else on the phone. When i press the home button the box just pops up again, there is nothing behind the box just a dark screen.

I have done a hard reset on the phone and the same problem still occurs!

How can this be solved? Suggestions are highly appreciated!

Moved your post to your device forum, for proper help and support, ;)

What was the update? An official OTA or a custom ROM, and was the phone rooted (as this is the root forum)?

A factory reset will do nothing if the system software is corrupt - all that does is clear data. If it was a ROM flash then downloading a new copy (or different ROM), checking the md5 code to make sure it's a good download, then reflashing will fix it. You can adb push the rom to the phone while in recovery or use an OTG device to flash it.

If you have an unrooted phone and an official update went wrong then a RUU (ROM Update Utility) will fix it if there is one which will run on your phone. Knowing current software version and network branding would help identify one. Otherwise as DC says it's a warranty job (but if an official update broke an unrooted phone they should fix that).

Never try official updates on modified phones (i.e. rooted).
