Root [International] Internal storage help? (4.3)

funkylogik

share the love peeps ;)
So my internal SD is more full than it should be.
Both these folders /storage/emulated/0 and storage/emulated/legacy are exactly the same size and seem to have the same contents. Should i? And which? Should i format? Cheers
P.s ive gone from 4.1, 1.2, 4.3 without a COMPLETE data wipe. Cheers

Was gona post my forgotten screenshot but got this message saying ive exceeded my quota???? More help needed.
Ill upload a Box link....

Thanks buddy thats what i just tried and youre right :)
Still tryin to account for some of my internal drive's use though....
On a side note, any idea why i cant upload a screenshot or link here using the app due to "exceeding my quota"?
Cheers

I've found,"Clean Master" app (free) to be very useful for removing junk that gets left over. Also if USB connected to my Win7 Laptop I use a free program called,"Tree Size" which lets me see the real sizes of folders and files and can then delete old junk. All O/S accumulate useless stuff that doesn't get removed by un-install operations.

On a side-note I bought a cheap 10 speed 32gig microSD card off eBay not long after I got my Galaxy ace and it amazes me that it's 32 gig on such a small format. My 1st PC hard drive was only 1.2 gig :O

I use the 2 gig original in this laptop as aux ram/cache :)

Do you have very large amounts of MMS or especially, emails on the phone?

Upgrading the OS without wiping the phone has no real effect on space.

On a side note, any idea why i cant upload a screenshot or link here using the app due to "exceeding my quota"?
Cheers

Have you linked/uploaded a lot of pics? As far as I'm aware, tapa only lets you upload/host 20 or so.

Admin are also an issue with album pics not displaying in some browsers so it may be connected to that too.

Thanks guys ill try cleanmaster or maybe just factory reset. My apps are backed up anyway. I dont have much sms since im always flashing roms but i never delete gmails. Could it be that?
I was thinkin it wight be something to do with the funky new file system in 4.2?
@Prez, no more pics than usual mate but theres defo more than 20 on here lol.
ill try again.... nope :(

What are you running at the moment, a 4.3 ROM?

I had issues when I updated to 4.3, I needed to mess about in Terminal Emulator and TB to get my restores/backups to work. Is that your issue?

In Android 4.3, I've had to change the menu away from its default directory. It can't seem to use the .../emulated/... Directories without serious issues. It'll see but not restore/create backups to directories in that folder.

Tibu has worked fine, im just tryin to empty some internal storage and in the stock storage app, the numbers dont add up. Wish i could post a pic lol :)

Try SdMaid free from the playstore, there's also pro version but the free version works great.

Gets rid of old junk left on your phone, tombstone files, crash logs, it finds things on there that you didn't even know you had, i gained back all kind of internel space.

Amazing app!

Cool thanks pal. Think ill try the least drastic measure 1st. Theres bits n peices around that i like as wallpapers, potential WP's, potential sounds etc that id prob lose with a full format :)

Stick them somewhere publicly accessible on the web (eg the public folder of a dropbox account, or one of the many photo sharing sites) and you can post the image from there. Doesn't have to be hosted by androidforums.

Thanks bro but im wondering why i cant just post em the normal way. It seems like its been my membership ran out

hi FL.
mine has been complaining about very low internal memory when installing new apps since flashing pac man 4.2.2 and we are talking into the mb left!
rebooting seemed to get it back to about 3gb
