Root [International] New Here. 16gb Taken Up in "Other"??

Hi all. Been on Android for a few years now.

Bought a g2, went back to an htc one. Just feels Better in my hands. Love it.

However I JUST looked at my storage and it says that a whopping 16gb is being used in "other", and this is directly after a factory reset.

I bought the phone via CL 2 days ago.

Any suggestions?

I ran a root checker abd it states I am not rooted.

I attached a screenshot.

Thanks in advance. I searched it but all people Saud was bloatware and OS...but 16gb is way too much for an OS, and I have no "carrier" branded apps on the phone.

sounds like leftover crap from a update from 4.1.2 to 4.2.2.
You need to root the phone and get a root file manager and set the system and / folders to R/W. then you go to /data/media and get rid of everything except the 0.

If you have moved from 4.1 to 4.2/4.3,the other may be your old se card contents. The change brought a change of storage location from data/media to data/media/0.

Use root explorer or equivalent and navigate to both locations and see if theres content

edit: nanja'ed! Lol
