Root [International] Not registered on mobile network after rooting n7100

I just rooted my note 2 n7100 and installed hawkish rom. now I can no longer make phone calls. I tried liquidsmooth rom and it also cannot make any calls. Dialling out brings up message, " not registered on network". The same sim in an s3 also running liquidsmooth works fine.

Under about device on the n7100 it says....

I've been searching the forums for over an hour but can't get any idea of what is going wrong.

Maybe the phone is black listed by the carrier? You can call them and ask.
