Root [International] Not rooted, not stock. Help

ro8in

Lurker
Hello,
I have recently purchased an s3 gt-19300. When it arrived it was rooted but I wanted it stock. I unrooted by pressing the unroot button in super su and have since lost root access. The phone is still showing as being rooted in sky go and Barclays app but not in the root checker app. Flash count is showing as 2.

I have tried to unroot via usb cable, I have installed the drivers but the phone won't show in odin when I power off and hold volume down, home and power button. I have installed keis but it still won't show.

I don't know if I can just reroot it, if so which rom should I use or is there a way to put it back to stock?

Please help, I now have a phone that is not rooted and not stock.....

Did you buy the phone second-hand? Anyway, do a factory reset and then, using Odin, flash the official firmware. Doing this will unroot the phone completely.

Did you restart your computer after installing kies? It can't be running in the background when you load odin.

Also you need to press up, after using the home/power/down combo.

Yes restarted computer, still not showing in odin. It shows when phone is turned on but not when off or in download mode. Tried every source of driver but no joy. Is it time to try a different computer?

be aware that you need to install drivers in a specific order or windows will get confused.
1st uninstall all samsung/android related drivers while the device is connected in download mode from device manager.
boot into android and connect it again with debug mode on and make sure you do the same with uninstalling drivers from device manager
disconnect the phone and turn off debug mode then reconnect and do the same process again.

once the above is done then do the following.

keep the device as it is (not debug mode) and connect the device, let it install the drivers.
disconnect and turn on debug mode and reconnect, let it install drivers
boot to download mode and connect device, let it install drivers

this should then allow odin to see the device correctly
