Root [International] Note 2 LTE: How to get stock Android 4.1.2

What are the steps need to get stock Android 4.1.2 on the Note 2 International model?

Do you only root it once?

Do you need to find the correct ROM for the right model? How to tell which model for the right ROM?

Do you still get OTA direct from Google or wait for the modified ROM version?

I am still using 4.1.1 version and still waiting for the new update. I have no time for rooting and I don't want to risk my phone as sometimes this kind of rooting leads to death of your device. I think its better to wait.

I got a new Note 2 Model N7100 running Android v.4.1.1. When I try to run System update, I am getting an error message "Network connection failed". I got wifi and 3g, both working ok. (A friend brought the set for me from Thailand, and I am using it in India)
Can anyone pls help. I am new to the forum; pls redirect or advise if this should be posted elsewhere.

I also noticed that the Auto-rotate screen doesn't work (this is on in Display Settings); also the FM Radio doesn't scan any stations. Any one out there can help me solve these. thanks EMN
