Root [International] Reinstall OS

I've had my HTC M7 for several months, But seems since the new Release of Sense 6 / Kitkat 4.4.4 I've lost my Messaging App, Gallery App & Music App won't operate.

I have Rooted the Handset, But I'm having difficulty to get my phone to show the default folder to drop the latest Kitkat 4.4.4 onto it to reinstall. It just shows as a CD Rom Drive.

I have contacted HTC, But the people that work there seem to the usually know less type.

I can send the phone back to them, But after a few bad stories I've read I don't want to return it to them with a possible charge of

I couldn't do a custom recovery without Rooting the Handset & The phone wouldn't factory reset.

I have the Kitkat 4.4.4 Software Folder to boot the Custom Recovery, But as I've said before:

It just shows as a CD Rom Drive.

Any Help would be great!

Maybe the cable and or USB ports your using try another port or cable. Also can I ask what windows are you using . for some reason windows 8 have a problem with drivers .

Windows 8 and 8.1 work fine with the current htc drivers
only on hboot 1.44 will fastboot have a problem
