Root [International] [requires root] galaxy gear compatible with htc one?

i was searching about the m7 working with the galaxy gear, the first model.
is it possible to make use of the galaxy gear with htc one m7??

Yes it's possible but I believe it requires root.

thanks. i had seen this page. but it seemed quite elaborate and many people facing problems going thru the process.

Yea I had the original Gear for a week and thought about doing the same thing but never got around to it. If you do proceed, let me know how it turns out.

i think i better go for the pebble watch first gen. cant go about all these samsung hassle. cant afford the pebble steel yet.

Here is a link to an XDA post that makes the requisite apks available and explains the fairly simple procedure. You don't need to be rooted and most but 2 features work. The 2 that do not depend on Samsung apps being in place, which the HTC One obviously does not have. As I understand it this does not impede the proper function of the interface to the Gear device.
