Root [International] Root-Injected Stock ROM vs. Root-Injected Stock Kernel

Hi all,

Have Rogers [i317M] Note II with root-injected stock ROM and recently found out there's also such a thing as a root-injected version of the stock kernel.

Under what circumstances would someone with a rooted stock ROM benefit from flashing the rooted version of the stock kernel too? Would it be for overclocking purposes only? (just a guess)

Moved to the root section for you for better exposure. ;)

Oh, sorry 'bout that, haha :o ... I read a lot but really don't post very much. But I did look for the Note II forum before posting  ... thx for your kind assistance.

In a nutshell: when might the rooted stock ROM not be enough, requiring the kernel to be rooted too?
