Hi everyone
I have tried doing a search, but I cant find the exact question I'm asking.
I have had my S3 for about a month now and I think its about time I root it. However I don't want to install siyah or whatever other kernel. There is something in the back of my mind that keeps telling me that since the kernel isn't made specifically for the S3 and is just a general kernel that works on many phones, it will cause the phone to crash/restart/slow down, like it did with my S2.
So what I'm basically asking is: Can I keep the kernel I have in my phone right now and just root it? Or can I download a rooted version of the same kernel?
I'm not interested in over clocking or improving battery life or whatever either.
I also plan to keep the stock ROM.
Thanks for the help in advance
