Root [International] Root

Not sure which area of root I'd post this in, so feel free to move it.

I'm on a Telus HTC One but I used cellunlocker to sim unlock it to use on bell network.

I'm interested in rooting because whenever some good vanilla android roms come out I'd like to try them. Coming from a galaxy nexus I am missing my stock android feel.

Basically not sure which section I'd look for roms and post in since none are listed for Canadisn carriers

Thanks

Didn't think I had an "international" one....

Can anyone confirm what roms I can use?

I think xda lumps the Canadian s4 with the at&t variant .. is this also true for the HTC one?

you can basically tell from what firmware your on if it's international or at&t

International begin with 1.29
and at&t 1.26
all that matters is it's a GSM or not = (CDMA)

the htc one is less complex than the one x,since they all use the quad core s4 processor.

the one x was divided into s4 and tegra 3,and each had different partition layouts,making roms not compatible.

as clsA said,all that matters here is GSM or cdma. :)

just a quick word on the version numbers.

the 1.xx will change. whats important,is the 3rd set of numbers,wich can be xxx or xxxx

for example:
1.29.1540.3= developer version
1.27.531.7 =tmobile
1.28.401.3 =htc europe
1.26.707.5 =wwe asia

as the builds progress,the first 2 sets,and the last number will become numerically higher,but the third set will stay constant.

not sure of exact builds for att& sprint at the moment,but...

att will be x.xx.502.x

sprint will be x.xx.651.x

check the international one forum on xda for roms,the AOSP roms will be in "original android development" section. xda

just holler if you have questions :)
