Root [International] Rooting and Upgrading

I own a Samsung Galaxy S3 running on Jelly Bean 4.1.2. My question is: If I root my S3 using oneclickroot, could I still get the upgrade to Jelly Bean 4.2.2 when it be available?

I fear that once I root my cellphone I will not get or use that upgrade.

Welcome to the forum.

After rooting you won't be able to update with kies or ota but you can manually flash the updated firmware with Odin

I'd also take a look at the routing guide sticky here if you're going to take the plunge. Easy process and the one I and probably most others on here followed. Least you'll have the benefit of custom rom tweaks until official 4.2.x is out, or rom devs have a nice stable version.
