Root [International] Rooting Telstra note 2

Proudnerd

Lurker
Hey guys so I'm trying to find out how to root my Note 2 with Telstra in Australia, model number GT-N7105t, mostly so I can dump bloatware and useless apps like the default music player and youtube and Samsung's crap default email client and other stuff I don't use and generaly just find out whats possible. I found guides for other models online but not for this one.

Could anyone please provide an idiot proof guide to rooting this phone though a link?

I have no experience with rooting devices, I haven't owned my note that long and i just switched from iOS in feb.

When o root is it possible to redownalod default apps form the play store again like S voice and S note or are they retained in the ROMs that would be suitable for me? My phone came with navigon free. Can I still access that somehow if I root my phone? GPS turn by turn navigation is very important to me

What ROMS should I look at? I'm interested in maximum customization and performance I use my phone mostly for games and web browsing so anything fast would be great.

Thank you very much in advance!

I would also be interested if anybody has information on this. I was primarily an iOS jailbraker but have recently switched to android with little to no research on the actual rooting process.

Any info specific to the GT-N7105T would be much appreciated.

Hi
Have a look at the v4.1.0 toolkit by mskip on XDA it has great instructions and covers your model Don't rush into rooting and replacement roms, research it so you understand. To keep the spen apps (and navigon)you will need a samsung rom or one based on it eg android revolution BUT be sure a rom is ok for your specific device before flahing it! You can check what is included on a rom before flashing. I would first root and install custom recovery and do a nandroid backup of your existing rom before wiping it
