Root [International] S3 root with network lock

_Ash_

Newbie
I have just taken delivery of a t-mobile (UK) handset and have been searching for a definitive answer as to whether I can root it without needing to unlock it first.

All I really want to do is to use titanium backup to restore my app data from my S2. I've seen the thread regarding t-mobile US and am wondering if that would do the job.

Any pointers would be appreciated as I say my search for a decent answer hasn't come up with anything.

Cheers but it's a bit of a Catch 22.

The sim checker won't work because it's needs root, mine isn't. All I really want to know is can I root with the sim lock on? I'm not fussed about unlocking it from the network as I get a really good deal anyway ;)

No problem, you can root with sim-lock, it's not related with it. I rooted mine and it was sim-locked. I then used an app on the market to unlock it.
