Root International S4 GTi9505 Bootloader question

I rooted both of my S3's ok, only problems were lack of confidence that I wouldn't lash up the phones.
My wife has an S4- GTi9505 UK, originally supplied by THREE. She uses a GiffGaff sim.
The battery life is appalling, so I thought to root it and put on the Resurrection Remix rom to bring it up to MM 6.0.1 spec. The phone is out of warranty.
Whilst reading up about it, I came across that some bootloaders can't be unlocked.
Nearly all the previous posts are about American carriers, so not sure if different.
Is this model one of those, and can it be unlocked so I can carry on, please ??

To the best of my knowledge the bootloader on international versions are not locked. To root, all you should have to do is install a custom recovery and flash SuperSU zip.
