Root [International] Sd card write blocked..fixable?

Hi guys.

Do HTC have kindly added micro sd to the new one, but Google has less kindly blocked apps writing to it 😠

Will rom devs be able to get round this do you think?

Apps can write to any directory on the SD card that they own. They can't write to directories that other apps own (unless the directory has write permissions for all or the app has superuser access). That's pretty standard for Linux, and Android just caught up on Kit Kat. Get used to it, because that's the way it's probably going to be from now on. If you want it the old way install a 4.3 or earlier ROM.

Yeah I must say it's never caused a problem for me tbh and I can't think of a situation where it would

It was a fix for rooted devices it start with a simple build.prop edit or edit the vold .

I tried to copy pictures and tunes from internal and got the error 😠
Sounds like there is an app on market that will sort it when I'm rooted 😉

Is that an HTC thing then? Works fine on the s3 on kitkat. Is the card working otherwise?

Yes that can be it a bad card or the thumb drive has failed aka broken

That's what i was wondering...but then my s3 is rooted and the 4.4.2 is custom so assume someone has got round it in the process
