Root [International] Should I root?

I am in Korea and will be getting a GS3 soon and I am wondering if I need to root it. I will run JB on it when the official release drops. I think I can get custom icons without a root right?

So what are some reasons I should root or not root?

Yeah you can get custom icons without rooting by using a third party launcher. The main reasons for rooting are
1. To make a backup of your entire phone (known as a nandroid) so if you're phone gets wiped or a firmware update doesn't agree with you, you can revert back to a previous state.
2. To backup your apps and data using a backup app such as titanium.
3. To debloat your phone. You will be able to disable apps you don't use without rooting but if you root you can remove them completely.
4. To flash custom roms and kernels. These will improve the performance of your phone from improving speed to improving battery life.
5. To further customize your phone. Although you can change icons without rooting the look of the menus and notification bar can't be changed. After rooting you can apply themes which will customize the whole phone.
