Well guys,
I've been in Dan's Roms for a while, switching between cm and ge, mainly because each one sadly had something minor missing that was in the other.
So, having tried out aosp neat Rom on my s2 for about 2mins before setting it up with sammy neat for the father in law, I decided to try out slimkat on the s4 . my thinking was that if it's good enough for sasa to use for s2 and s3 then it's with a go
I've been on it for a fair few days now, and the battery has only really become better and better, best I've had for a long time off charge for 11hrs,4hrs screen on time and still 16%, and it got better than that!
It has all the mods that I personally use, all the toggles, use image for notification background, change colours of those items etc, change buttons, only thing missing has been the themes and smart radio, I've had no issues using gravity box for smart radio only and hk theme manager can be used if required (though I haven't actually used it as I pretty much themed it myself)
It also comes with dark option which gives a black messaging and play store.
I started on 5.6 which is 4.4.2 based, but had some very minor issue ( navbar would appear on restart) have just done a dirty flash to 5.8 which is 4.4.3 based and boy is it slick
If you fancy a little flashing I really do recommend trying this out

N.b. just realised that the torch on lock screen long press home button won't work without gravity box as I'm trying it out on art for a day, there is an option with the lock ring to do it though
