Root [International] system wallpapers and lock screen?

hi all,
so I've actually managed to alter my lock screen wallpaper :-D
but it will only use system wallpapers :-\
so was thinking of copying one of my own pics into the system
area to see if it will accept these. anyone tried this?
where are system wallpapers stored?
thanks
Dan

You can use any image on your lockscreen. Go to settings, display, wallpaper and then set homescreens and lockscreen together. If you want something different on your homescreens just change that by itself after.

hi thanks.
for some reason it doesn't work on mine
only accepts the standard pictures

for some reason my phone will only use the stock rom pictures using standard gallery app. quick pic doesn't seem able to set my pictures as lock screen :-\
odd I know

I can only guess it's Rom related. I just tried changing the lockscreen wallpaper by itself to a custom image (something that never worked in the past) and no problems.

As for your original question the stock wallpapers appear to be in the twwallpaperchooser.apk so I don't think it'll be easy to add them there. I guess you'd have to decompile and recompile but that one's beyond me.

yes i am using the pattern lock option. The issue you are facing might have something to do with the Rom you are running. Try opening any pic from the standard gallery app and click on set as and then select lock screen. Does anything happen? Which is the rom you are using?

hi yes I've tried it many times and nothing happens unless
i only use the system wallpapers. I'm using Codec rom currently
but the issue has been there since stock.
interestingly if I set both home and lock screen, the home screen doesn't
get set either :-\

cheers

Ive made my lockscreen obsolete so i dont use one lol but i used to use widget locker and had no problem with scaling pics using quickpic mate

thanks guys. yes I've got quick pic on here too. same issue.
yes I'm using picture password lock app to get around this
cheers

try removing quick pic and see i read an article somewhere of somebody having the same issue and it resolved itself after he removed quick pic.

How would you rate Quickpic against the 4.2 gallery mate?
Must say, i was a Quickpick fan but AOSP 4.2 gallery seems much nicer (navigation wise anyway) :)

quickpic is still my goto gallery - but i feel that it maybe needs an update - still works well though imo

The amount of different image files we end up with makes our gallery app more slow n confused n u can exclude folders but 4.2 has learned to be less "pretty" n more functional.. wow im listening to All Targets Down by Hardfloor.

Here's a workaround to use if you like just swipe. go to settings, security, lock screen change it to Pin and use an easy to remember number. Now you can use the plain old regular Gallery to insert a custom image. After you do that go back to security and set security to Swipe. Now when you go back to the lock screen you'll still see the image you used with PIN. The best part is that now when you go back to Display, lock screen wallpaper you'll still have the Gallery option along with the stock Wallpaper images.

how about my suggestion of removing quick pic? I read it on another article on this forum only he had a similar issue and it was resolved after removing quick pic. There is no harm in trying it. If it does not work install it again.

FYI, I never managed to set a lockscreen wallpeper with quickpic, it just doesnt work. It had to be the samsung gallery for that. I know that doesn't help with your actual issue, but so long as you stop wasting time trying with QP, its good.
