Root [International Tegra 3] Please help my one x :(

Hey guys, new to this forum so firstly hi all.

Ive run into a major issue while rooting my one x. Please dont ask me how i got to this state, as its quite embarrasing lol.

Basically my phone is stuck with out a rom.

I have CW on there and am able to use fastboot...If it wernt for my damn battery being too damn low.

It seems to charge though, but no matter how long i leave it for it gives me a warning in the bootloader about the battery, i beleive due to this my pc wont detect the phone is fastboot, or using adb while in CW.

Does anyone know if the battery warnings can be overwritten or if there is a way to fully charge the battery?

If not, has anyone had experience in changing these batteries?

thanks for the reply El Presidente..

im guessing you mean this bit

IF YOU HAVE ANY UNSIGNED RECOVERY:
1.- GO TO RECOVERY
2.- FORMAT SYSTEM
3.- RESTART NORMALLY
4.- YOUR PHONE WILL STOPS IN "HTC QUIETLY BRILLIANT" SCREEN
5.- PUT YOUR PHONE TO CHARGE (no light notification appears)
6.- LET IT CHARGE FOR A COUPLE HOURS (i put mine to charge for a complete night)
7.- Now restore your RUU, Flash, etc...

IF YOU HAVE SIGNED RECOVERY:
1.- GO TO FASTBOOT
2.- HIT "SHUT DOWN"
3.- WITH THE POWER OFF PUT IT TO CHARGE
4.- RED LIGHT NOTIFICATION SHOWS THE CHARGING PROGRESS.
5.- NEXT DAY YOU WILL SEE A SOLID GREEN LIGHT NOTIFICATIONS FOR A COMPLETE CHARGE.

PD: Sorry for ortography, im from Chile, my native speaking is spanish but i want to share my knowledge with XDA COMMUNITY

Yea tried this...i get the charging notification and after a few hrs, go back into fastboot and still get the battery warning as well as pc not detecting the phone. Ive tried two pc's to rule out a pc issue.

Im really stuck on this dude, i have a feeling this is to do with the latest update that went out.

The bit just above it, this one:

1) connect the phone to PC, your phone will boot into bootloader with red light flashing on and off or all the way red or no light at all.
2) use the vol button to scroll to power down and press power to off.
3) if the phone boot again to bootloader, repeat (2)
4) if the phone not booting, press the power button to on the phone, it will boot to bootloader again. Try the fastboot flash ** (whatever you want to do, either flash unlock.bin to unlock bootloader to flash CWM recovery or relock bootloader and flash stock recovery). If it fails due to low battery, repeat again (2) then (3) and (4). I did this less than ten times to have fastboot flash working.

What I notice is whenever we press power on, it will go to splash screen but unable to pass the bootanimation due to lack of battery, it will go back to bootloader. In the process, the battery get charging but stop when we are in bootloader. So restart again & again (power down in bootloader & power on again) will charge the battery until you have enough juice for fastboot flash.

Note: item (4), I did the fastboot flash ** before power on, it will say "waiting for device", once the phone is on and in fastboot mode, the command will runs. So once the battery reach about 20%, it will runs succesfully.

If you can get it to 20%, get the phone to pick it up, rather than run an RUU, you'd be better off going for a more recent recovery. I take it you're on an older clockwork yeah?

hmmm....no....cant beleive i missed that, cause i've came across that thread a number of times...

ill give that a go, thanks mr president. If it works i owe ya one.

And yea, i will get a newer recovery, ive read the new CW charges, that would of solved all my woes.

Cheers dude, will do. Yea was thinking team win, was recomended to me.

Ive downloaded the android revouloution rom, is that anygood. Im looking for somthing with sense and similar to stock rom.

Agreed with El Presidente. ViperX is very customizable and the tweaks are very easy to use. In all honesty, though, I found ARHD 17 to be much faster and smoother and a little less bloated (that might be because ARHD17 is based on JellyBean whereas ViperX on Ice Cream Sandwich), and yes, the battery life on both are equal for me. I have Nandroid Backups of both and I actually switch back and forth between them every now and then! Haha

There are certain things in ARHD17 that I like and others in ViperX, if only I had the ability to compile all the things I like into one ROM! lol

when you say customizable, you mean like adjusting cpu speed and all that other stuff? if no dont really need that, just want a nice smooth fast and pretty looking rom. Might try both n see.

First things first have fix this battery issue, we'll find out in about 5-6hrs once i get off work.

Well, "VenomTweaks" has both visual as well as under-the-hood modifications, ranging from themes, statusbar, drawer to CPU and such. There are a couple of things I really like about ViperX:

1) It has the 'quicksettings' icons in the drop-down drawer and you can add as many as you want and scroll left and right to get to them.

2) When you're on the home screen and you press the Menu button, you get a menu popup with several things you can tap including "Personalize, Venom Tweaks, Settings and such".

3) You can modify the size of the drawer, and there are two pages, one for notifications and the other for vertical quicksettings.

4) You can enable the AOSP lockscreen which is just fantastic and I've had a hard time finding one as good using 3rd party applications on other ROMs, including WidgetsLocker and such.

And there are a couple of other things I like about it but I do not remember them at the moment.

If you want an OEM look ROM that is smooth and fast then go for Android Revolution HD 17 and don't look back. You'll need to upgrade your HBOOT to 1.31 (or 1.33 or 1.36 depending on your device), though.

Thanks for the response Tarek, all good, will most likley go with ARHD, but if down the track i feel like a bit of tweaking ill try out viper. Even if my one x is screwed ill probably buy another :)

Oh don't worry, mate, you'll not screw up; it is really easy to install custom ROMs; if you're not experienced with them, just post or message me and we can IM each other and I'll help you through it if you want. Make sure you have the latest Clockwork Mod Recovery, though, so you wouldn't have any problems.

Thing is my phone doesnt load straight to bootloader, hangs on HTC qietly brilliant screen. Ive tried this method powering it on by holding vol down n power, then going to bootloader->fastboot>powerdown
and starting again.

I got it to the stage where battery warning was gone, but pc wasnt detecting it fastboot was "waiting for device". Rebooted again n the warning is back, ill keep trying, but any ideas?

will try, but I've used the same cable to just flash my old desire, so i believe it's working OK.

Don't suppose anyone would know away to remove the battery to charge it.

no luck...fastboot says waiting for device when i try n flash recovery. pc doesntt detect at all, tried another pc as well.

do you have the phone in fastboot? it wont work if youre in hboot. you should see a red fsatboot usb when youre in the right spot :)

different cables,as EP suggested, also different ports, sometimes a reboot of the PC will help.

make sure nothing is running on the PC that can talk to the phone: htc sync, easy tether, pda net, even itunes has been known to cause issues.

you can check for fastboot connectivity with:

fastboot devices

it will save you from just running the flsah recovery command to find out if your connected or not ;)

if none of that works, you may have a driver issue. i personally use these:
http://downloads.unrevoked.com/HTCDriver3.0.0.007.exe

Thanks for the reply scotty.

The issue im having is very odd. Battery wont charge, and when i do get it to the point that fastboot doesnt warn me about battery, nothing happens. fastboot devices shows nothing. Tried another pc, cable.....same issue. Really stuck here, pretty sure ive tried it all.

Anyone want a one x for parts?

dont give up on him yet ;) if you put the phone in fastboot and plug in,does it pop up in device manager? if so,have you tried manually updating the drivers?

copy of your cmd window, and a screen shot of your sdk folder may help as well.

See the fast boot on the phone ususally gives me the battery warning. after multiple reboots following the instructions that were give by El Presidente from that xdadev thread, i can get it so on the phone there is no battery warning (took atleast 20 reboots).

Nothing in device manager, nothing at all on the pc. phone says in red "fastboot Usb".
I know my drivers are ok becuase i plug in my old desire and i flashed the recovery in fast boot and could push files using adb. Plug in my one x, and nothing. Like its dead to my pc or somthing, also tried another to make sure its not my computer, and am already using the drivers u had posted.

Ive messed around for like 4 days now trying to charge this phone so i can fix it....with no luck at all. I feel my only hope is to get the battery removed and charge it. But even then its very worrying that my pc wont detect it. Kinda leads me to beleive maybe i have a usb port issue...but hard to say.

Im real cut up about loosing this one x. I really regret trying to unlock and stock rom is still pretty nice.

If anyone has any other suggestions ive extremly happy to try them. Either way, you guys on this forum are great. havnt been able to get help anywhere else, so keep up the nice forum environment :)

Sorry Hectic, but thanks for the comments!

If you get a replacement and want to try it again, let us know, we'll happily walk you through what you need to do.

Cheers man, i will probably get another one x, although thinking about the XL as it has 4g. Ive used the s3 a fair bit and im not a fan. HTC make nicer phones, and sense shits all over samsungs ui.

Although, i wouldn't have this issue with a s3. All the one x is missing expandable storage. Might look up if sense can be installed on an s3. Im sure it should be :p
