Root [International Tegra 3] Random Reboots

Seemed to be going alright but it randomly rebooted while I was showing off my live wallpaper to my brother. I don't know what else to try.

Yea, I'll try that out tonight. Also, I'm running the viperx kernel and I'm not exactly pleased with my battery life so I flashed the stock kernel (I remember you telling me that it gave you the best battery life/performance) and my live wallpaper would freeze as soon as it finished booting followed by a reboot. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if there's something wrong with my device.

My current kernel version is:
2.6.39.4-g090b42e
root@ABM041 #1
SMP PREEMPT

The boot.img of a ROM contains the kernel, right?

Ah alright. So I tried a clean install. Wiped cache, dalvik cache, did a full wipe from recovery and again from the ViperX installer, and installed all the apps from the play store. Restored just nova launcher from TiBa. Ran smooth for a whole day, then I caught it rebooting once. Got home and found it switched off. (Yes, its started powering off all together now. T.T) I tried flashing CM10 as a sub till the new ViperX 3.0 comes out but that doesn't go past the boot screen (not the CM one, the white HOX screen)

I'm going to switch phones till I find a working solution, this is starting to get unbearable.

Edit: I've never faced any of these issues before I did a firmware upgrade and flashed MaXimus. Returned to Viper after a couple of days and these started happening. Maybe up-ing it once more and starting from next level factory scratch will help?

im not quite sure what to think of your rebooting issues, but the prollem with cm10 was likely an incompatible boot image,if you didnt manually flash it.

at this point,it may not hurt to relock, and run an RUU for your current build, and run stock for a few days.

another possibility that comes to mind, that i think id try before relocking...

it could be you have an app misbehaving or doing something it shouldnt, causing the reboots/turn offs.

if prolly try full wipe again, and only install a handful of your most needed apps, and if it goes well, then install just a few at a time a couple days apart and try and narrow down the one that may be casueing prollems.

That's a good idea, I'll try that out. I just ran a fresh install again, minus the nova launcher restore. Had to customize my home screen again. I'll try that out if this reboots, and the odds are, it probably will.

As for the cm10, I downloaded the nightly zip dated 1.1.13 and flashed the boot.img through fastboot. I'll try getting the stable one or another just in case. Thanks for your input guys, would be quite lost without it.

Ok, so I relocked/unlocked and flashed ViperX 3.2 :D Hopefully, that's the end of it. If somehow, these bastardly reboots have followed me this splendid update, I going to to starting breaking shit. >.<

edit: spoke to soon. rebooted after 3 hours of usage. gonna try what scotty suggested with installing just a few apps at a time.

It still happens, missing calls, no notifications, reboots, whole works. I want to try a full wipe like when you upgrade your hboot. My CID is HTC__16 and I'm on 1.31 atm. Is 1.33 available for my CID? Can't seem to find any links for such. There's one for 1.39 but I don't want to go that high until we're at least close to s-off.

Did you run an ruu when you relocked? If so did you get reboots on that, too? How long did you give it,completely stock?

I haven't been on stock since the day I got my phone :P I found a fix though, turns out it was the AOSP lockscreen in tweaks. Disabled it yesterday and my device has been running perfectly since. Found a thread on xda with some guy having the same issue. I can't believe it was just a lockscreen in the end! The other day I called my phone from my land line, it rang on my end but when I looked at my phone, it didn't ring. I pressed the power button, didn't turn on, just rebooted. Explains the lack of notifications though. Anyway, I'm glad that's over. Thanks a lot guys.
