International texting?

Hey guys I'll start off by saying that I'm on tmo's $30 plan. I just recently had a chat with a Rep and they told me that for me it would be .50

Are you going overseas?

Or just looking for a cheaper carrier here? Most prepaid plans are gonna charge extra for that.

Also, we'll need to know what country. That can make a huge difference

EDIT:

A better option may be a data based messaging service, rather than using SMS.

Thanks for replying, and no I'm not going over sea's I just wanna be able to text someone in England. I could use an app but they have 1gb of data on their plan and that burns fast. I tried many apps but they all require the other person to also have that app installed.

You are ok with changing SIMs just to send/receive text messages? Consider that you won't know that you received a text till you put in the other SIM...
Also, are you sure that they won't get charged for receiving an international text? (Sprint, in the US for example, charges for sending and receiving international text)

What about Facebook messaging? Doesn't solve the data issue, but many come with Facebook preloaded.

How about Skype? you can text for like $.10 to England and im pretty sure u can connect to to your phone so u receive texts back to your number.

There are so many free ways like Facebook, Twitter DM, Skype etc

It's how I communicate with friends outside the UK.
