Root [International] Troubleshooting HTC One (locked but s-off)

Hello,

I recently bought this HTC One M7 Gold for about 480$. The phone works good. But i'll be glad if you could help me with some of the questions and a bit of problems i am facing.

1. The display has a slightly yellowish tint. Is there a problem with the display?
2. The software version is 4.4.2 with sense 5.5. I heard 6 is also out. But it says no update is available. Why?
3. I very frequently loose Network signals. They do come back but after about 3-5mins. Is there be a problem with the phone?
4. Also, is it possible to tell where was the phone bought from and if it is International unlocked.

I have 7 days to confirm if i will keep the phone or not. Please do tell me if it would be worth wile.

Would be glad if you could help me with this.

Thanks :-)

device is definitely s-off which means you are free to flash bootloaders and such.

lets take this discussion to the rooting section. there are some very well informed members who can help you with this here. :)

If by "international unlocked" you mean SIM unlocked, the easy way to tell is to stick different network's SIM in.

Sense 6 update is starting to roll out. Some device variants have it, most haven't yet.

Signal problem could be phone, network or SIM. Would need more information to guess which.

Most manufacturers use different display suppliers so there can be some variation in colour temperature. Hard to say whether it's that or a problem just from the description. I'd say the test is whether you are ok with it or not.

Thanks for your reply.

1. All the Sim(s) work on it. So i guess it is International unlocked?
2. Concluding it is an International unlocked device, Sense 6 should be there, right? Coz HTC updated Sense 6 On Developers and International devices? (Correct me if i am wrong here) :-)
3. What info would be required to tell if the problem is with the Phone, Sim or Network?

Well if the phone works with different networks' SIMs, do you have the signal problem with all of them? If you do that would imply the issue is with the phone. If it's only with one particular SIM then it could be either the SIM or the network.

I think roll-outs of updates are by region even for international unlocked phones. But I just spotted that your CID (Customer ID) is 622, which is a Hong Kong model, so you'd not get the update yet.
