Help International Use

Well to put it plain, if you get an unlocked gsm version of GS3 in NZ. You can use it in USA but only with AT&T.

I don't proofread much. I should definitely do that, because I just read my post and I don't understand half of it hahaha. I think I don't proofread thinking its just a forum. Boy was I wrong, I definitely will start doing that from now on.
Apparently all NZ phones come unlocked. Whether that is GSM unlocked, I don't know. So I can just buy an AT&T sim card, put it in the phone, and it'll work perfectly, just like it would in NZ? (Except i'll be on an AT&T plan, and all that of course.)

Haha, proofreading can help a bit. I never do it either though.

You shouldn't even have to buy a sim card, just walk into an AT&T store and tell then you want to sign up fit a plan without a contract and you have your own phone.

The settings I was talking about are the sms and internet server settings. The AT&T store should be able to show you how to do that (or at least get someone who can on the phone).

How does that work? I thought sim card would be compulsory? Not sure how providers work there I guess.

It (the sim card) is compulsory, but it is free if you are signing up for a plan, even without a contract (which you won't need or want).

Not sure if the sim is free on a prepay plan or not.

Gotcha. Thanks for all the help! Am going to go ahead and buy the phone.
