Internet access question.

So i bought a Samsung galaxy Ace off the interwebs and its coming on monday.
But the question i want to ask is, What do you have to do to get internet access? (Facebook, App downloads etc.)
Do i need some kind of payment plan or do i just use it without charge?

I am buying on Pay as you go and putting my old SIM card in. An O2 sim.

You don't need to buy a data plan if you only want to access Internet from home or some public places that have wireless Internet access. In this way, you just need to turn on WIFI.

What about places without free internet/WiFi?

In places without free internet or WiFi, you need to have a data plan from your provider (network carrier) to have access to internet.
