Help Internet based alerts

I am a Community First Responder and get emergency alerts sent to my Note 4, They are sent from a computer system and come in to the text message app along with all other cell phone texts.

My question is can i change the alert tone and if so how? they only have a short text number and it seam that the note 4 doesn't see the number. when they come through to my note 4 I only get the same alert as all other texts messages.

Long press on the thread of past notices, choose Ringtones and select a custom sound for that number.

there is also an aoo called Zedge. gives u complete control of ringtones and such

If you can store the number as a contact, then go into the contact and edit. Select add more fields and you should see message tone and Vibration Pattern as being able to be added.
I have a similar setup and my alerts come in as an 8 digit number. I have them all stored under one contact with about 20 numbers. Edit that contact and you have individual tones and vibration if you want it.
