internet browser

[yoave23]

hi all

i have a galaxy s and when trying to navigate to a web page that has a media player on it all i get is a red square around the location where the video should be played and a blue lego brick inside it.
i guess it has something to do with codecs or something but i couldn't make the vidoe play...

any ideas?

Welcome to AF!

The lego brick means that content requires a plugin for the browser. In this case I'm pretty sure the plugin you need is Adobe Flash

You should be able to download it free from the Android Market here:

hey alostpacket
thanks for the quick reply.
i have updated my flash player but nothing changed...
any other ideas?

thanks.

It might be some other type of video (like Winwos Media) -- unfortunately flash is really your only option for a plugin for Android browsers. You could try tapping the lego, and try long pressing and see if it gives you any options.

tried it...
can you maybe suggest an other browser that works good with this device?

Opera is excellent (either mini or mobile version).

It may also be worth posting in the forum for your phone as they may be able to help more about specific phone settings. Samsung Galaxy S - Android Forums

You can probably find an app to play the format/codec but finding a browser that supports it is actually what you're looking for.
