Help internet connection problem on huawei u8510

hi i was downloading an app this morning with gud phone signal and internet connection and now the internet connection has gone down and the app has not been abled to be disabled due to this i have tried my internet settinngs on my fne and all seems to be good but does not seem to be having any effect casn anyone help please

At the top right hand of the screen are some tiny icons.
One of them is a tiny picture of 5 vertical bars descending in size.
The bars light up green, which shows you if your phone is receiving a signal, the more bars the stronger the signal. No bars = no signal.
