Help Internet Connection Problem

Yesterday my brother got a sim card with an nternet traffic so i put it in my phone but i had no nternet connection. I pressed and holded the power button and activated the "data network mode" but still nothing. I searched the options menu but couldn't find anything. I am using JuiceDefener so i thought i might have forbidden it so i disabled it. Still nothing. My phone is rooted with "z4root" firmware: 2.2 android I9000XXJPP is there a way that i could have forbidden it somehow? Thanks

You might need to enter the APN settings for your mobile carrier.
Settings-->Wireless and Network-->Mobile Networks-->Access Point Names.
If it is blank you need to add a new one, Menu-->New APN.

You need to find the info from your carrier or online.
