Help Internet connectivity after updating Google Maps

Is anyone else experiencing issues with the internet connectivity on their HTC Desire after updating Google Maps over the weekend. I am having some issues and a friend of mine has lost all connectivity.
 
The last update I had was a couple of weeks ago and there hasn't been an update available for me since. No problems I can associate to that though.
