internet searching question

Hey, this is a completely random question.

So my gf has an HTC sensation 4G and when she was searching for a website (barnes and noble), a questionable website came up as a suggested website. Now she thinks that I had something to do with this, and that I looked at this page.

The reality is that I do not know how to use her phone, and never used it to look up this webpage, or any other questionable webpage. I have a dumb phone, and know very little about smart phones or android phones, other than being reasonably tech saavy.

Are internet suggested websites based off of previous browsing history, or is it based on some other factor such as global internet website popularity? Any insight onto this matter is greatly appreciated.

And please no comments on her paranoia, lets just say there is some justification for it based on my past.

If it is a google search engine then yes, google saves previously searched information to give you more accurate search information, and yes if you visited the site in the past it will more than likely show up again and again, until you erase your search history.

Hope this helps!

I don't think that's her concern. She's accusing op of having previously visited the suggested link. I'm assuming, op, your gf used either the search box of Google.com from a browser, or the Google Search app, started typing Barnes and Noble, and you're referring to the suggestions that appeared after a few letters type. Those suggestions are based on popular searches by users worldwide and searches done on her Google account. So it is both entirely possible that you type the suggested phrase and that you did not ever type that phrase. So in a country where the innocent remain so until proven otherwise, she had no reason to be on your case. Just explain what I said or show her this post
